I don't get many waves. An occasional flash, but I can't reciprocate since I have bi-xenons. Both low and high beams are xenons and they take a while to light up. Flashing isn't good for them.

So, I'll continue to try to wave!

thanks man, that was great and explains a lot. I drove back from North Bend last week, I passed 2 mini drivers, both waving franticly at me. Made me smile big time. God I love this car.

Im a fire fighter and i would say wave. because it makes the other drivers remember that they should . oh and you will love the mini i gave up my truck and never looked back. the performance and mpg alone are worth it. besides i get to drive a quantum pumper for free and they pay me to do it. people always wave at me in it. welcome to the mini world.

I posted this on another thread about waving. The other day going down the blvd (four lanes of traffic in each direction) I spotted my look alike Mini. I beeped the horn which got the other Mini drivers attention and then waved just as we passed. He didn't have time to react as we were going in opposite directions. Afterward my DH and I were joking that his Co Pilot was surely questioning him as to who the blondie was in the other Mini trying really hard to get his attention and waving like a crazy lady.

I say WAVE, WAVE, and then WAVE some more. It's a Mini thing and most of us understand it. It's nice to get a smile out of a fellow Mini owner.

I like to travel down our local beach stripe with our local Fire Fighters while they are cruising the stripe and sucking on their ice creams. Yes, they are allow to do this in between calls I guess. Not sure that they get the some what look alike thing, but others in passing do. The beast (fire truck) being followed by the little want to be Mini.

wave? nah... it's more like an 'attack' or something... you'll see everything from flashing lights, wipers w/ no rain (this is the car waving instead of the owner), honking, yelling out of windows, frantically waving both hands in the air (while steering w/ ur knee of course).... out of evertime i've waved, i don't think it's ever been the same twice... usually a mix of twor or more of the above listed things... lol..

I just got home from work and my wife saw this post - here first question was "OK, what kind of wave" ?? now you might laugh - but on a bike there is a definite wave - down and out / left hand - sometimes with two finger other times an open hand - If a biker gives the high open hand back and forth wave - New biker!! - Now I do agree - bikers are a Very Different group - I would say any sort of reconition from another Mini is "doable" lol

If you think I am making the biker wave up - go out buy a new Harley - pass a groupe of Hells Angels on the open road - flash your light, honk you horn and start waving back and forth - then watch the reaction??? LOL.....

I enjoy my Harley and looking forward to my New PW Mini - I will wave to all Mini's and for that matter anyone who waves... I wave to ALL bikers - requardless on what they ride and to any kid in a car next to me at a light with his face glued to the window - Kids love bikes and Everyone loves Mini's...

The MINI wave is one of my favorite things about owning a MINI! It makes me feel like part of a real community, very fun!

Sorry to you wavers, but sometime I don't notice the wave until after I pass you.

Maybe it's the speed on the Autobahn. Nobody notices until you're already way past them.

Not really a MINI -> MINI wave, but I just had the pleasure of having a local police officer wave at me as I was at a stop light and he was passing through the intersection in his patrol car. Didn't have a chance to wave back since I was too busy looking around me for who he was waving at before I realized it was me/my MINI.
