The backup sensor on my MCS occasionally gives off phantom beeps when backing up, when I know there's nothing behind or next to me. Does this happen with anyone else?

And please don't flame me for buying the sensor on a car that's 1/2 the length of an Expedition... I'm a crappy parallel parker...

 

Maybe only a couple of times in the past few years. I was guessing it was just a big bug flying by.

 

Consistently? Intermittantly? Only occasionally? One beep in a rare while? Or several beeps every now and then? Continuous tone or beeps?

Cause depending on the pattern, could be a loose connection for one of the sensors...

 

I get a few odd beeps from things to the side that should be out of range, but they are (green graphic) early warning beeps. So I don't pay much attention to them.

 

Mine always beeps once right when I first put the car in reverse, even if there's nothing for miles around me. I think it's a programmable option, because my wife's MINI doesn't do it.

 

Mine sees everything, even ghosts...no, just kidding.
Leaves, big bugs, some curbs, people, it does detect them. It has done the occasional mystery beep though,not very often.
