please advise!

I have an '07 MCSa with a little over than 1500 miles on it. I drove it 20 miles on the highway, doing 75-80 miles per hour, the car jerked a little bit and made some "growling noise",I kept on driving til I got to my destination. To my horror, when I was about to shift the car to park ,I realized I was driving all those time in Manual mode by mistake, somehow I shifted it to manual mode instead of Drive ,when I look up at the dashboard, it says DS!! Do you think I damaged the engine? I drove it today and it seemed fine. I am still worried though

if i'm not mistaken i believe i read in the manual i downloaded that if you are in the manual mode it will shift on it's own once the RPMs gets so high in case you forget to shift.

Even in manual mode the computer won't let you drive out of gear enough to let you damage the engine. It will change gears for you before it gets to that point.

no..the mini has a computer that wont let you really damage the engine. You were surly riding some HIGH rpms, but your car is broken in by now. i honestly would not worry about it

No damage...just a lot of gas wasted.
