R56 Do the rear seat bottoms come out?
Sorry for bringing back a dead post but looking for an answer to this question as well. Today I finally had the time to try and install my rear Wet Okole seat covers. Never really looked at them when I got them as I was hurried to install the fron ones first. Well now, after many months, I got around to doing the rears. Lo and behold..8 or so damn straps to strap on the rear bottom seat. No way am I squishing my hands thru those openings like I did the fronts 8 times. Anyways, I know you can lift the front part of the rear seats to access the manual cable to open the trunk. Just can't figure out how to detach the rear. Its not a very comfortable position back there trying to see what's under the rear seats. Anyways, some of you who may have bought the rear Wet Okole seat covers for the R56 might know so I'm asking before I start putting it off for another few months from being lazy again.
The front of the rear seat bottom pulls up. There is a snap-like mechanism holding them down. Then you have to deal with the rear. It has been awhile since I've done it.

That's perfect. TY very much. Now to install those seat covers before procrastination sets in again.
I've had a good experience with MINI of Mountain View. When I first ordered in March of 2007 I was told that there was a $1,500 dealer add-on. Production at this time was behind demand, so some dealers were adding extra profit. I could have gone elsewhere, but waited a few months longer. So, I agreed to the $1,500. By the time my MCS was delivered, they had dropped the dealer fee and sold it to me for MSRP, in spite of my agreeing to the higher price.
They have been good on warranty service -- the color of my scoop didn't match the hood, and it needed a software update to get voice activation working.
The MA's (sales people) don't work on commission. So, if my regular MA wasn't available, another was happy to help.
Like MA's everywhere, it seems that they often hear about things long after we know about them on NAM. MINIUSA is not very good at dispensing info to MAs. My MCS was the first with a NAV that my MA had gotten a chance to work with -- in spite of specifically requesting NAV training from MINI.
