What is the purpose for the windows going up that last 1/2 inch? Sorry for asking this again.

 

Do you mean when you get in and the windows adjust themselves? That is the car resealing the window to eliminate any gaps, I think they go down slightly and then back up to provide a tight seal.

ask anyone who has owned a GM product with pillarless doors (monte carlo, camaro etc) Nothing worse than dealing with a whistle going down the highway.

 

I think that trick started with the higher end convertible cars. Like an M3. When you go to open the door the window drops bit to clear the lip of the soft top. It does the same when you close the door. Result=better seal.

 

The fart sensor did not detect any offensive odor, so the window was sealed.
