I am planning to do my own oil change and wondering what brand of oil is everybody using? Do you guys buy the oil filters from the dealers? Thanks

I have always used Mobil 1, but for the first oil change I used Royal Purple 5w30. I was curious about their claims of better lubrication & better mileage. Too early to tell if mileage is better, and no way of telling if it is lubricating better...

Filter was purchased from the $tealer.

I have used Castrol Syntec for my first two, but will probably switch to Mobil One from here on in. Bought a 1/2 dozen filters from my local dealer.

Mobil 1 for me. A filter kit (2 filters , O rings, drainplug crush washers and 27mm socket) is available from www.minimania.com for $30.95 + shipping.

Mobil 1. I love their packaging-the color of the label and the plastic bottle. And the bottles are designed correctly so that when I pour it into the engine it comes out without burping. The spout is correctly positioned on one side rather than in the center.
