We just picked up some union jack mirror caps for our r56, but I can't find any instructions on how to install them. The clips look relatively straightforward, but there is a tiny groove between the outer colored (union jack) shell and the black plastic mirror housing.

It looks as though this is just a result of the outer part being glued on, can anyone confirm that this 'groove' isn't meant to be fitted into anything on the mirror base on the car? It looks as though it's not, I just want to be 100% sure.

I also found a heavy gauge guitar pick was the perfect tool for popping off the old caps.

Search on the forums...this is a 5 min job if you follow the instructions.

 

I did search before posting, but couldn't find anything useful. I've heard there is a guide with photos(?) here but I couldn't find it. I tried all the relevant keywords I could think of but still no luck.

 

Found that thread for you ,but I could not repeat it again. Funky search engine. Any how I did get the dates and user name --- ImagoX on 4-4-2007 and JohnBLZ on 4-2-2007. both of them have the instructions for removing the cap.
