I have a set of track tires 225/50/16 that I used to use on my Z3. Are there 16x7 wheels for MINI's? I was told 225/50/16 will fit 16x6.5 but it will look pinched, and I don't know it will be safe either.
Do you know anyone who will buy 4 Michelin pilot sport cup tires with 80% use left for $400? I would really like to get a set of 16x7" wheels that will fit on the R56.

 

Hey r56mini, have you gone to Tirerack to check the specs on the sport cups? According to them, your 6.5s are ok. There may be a little pinching, but they say that tire can be mounted on a 6. I run 205/50/15 Hoosiers on 6s on my old race car and they don't fall off!

I'd give it a try myself. I honestly don't think there will be a problem or Michelin wouldn't have put it on the site as acceptable.

I've seen a lot of 16x7s. Look through the selector on TireRack. I think most of the 16s it brings up are 7" wide.
