Updated post from wood trim wheels to wood trim steering wheel, though now that i think of it, the wooden wheels might be a cool retro look

Well, if its new vs used, there are 2 things to remember... the R56 ('07) is a totally different car than the R53 ('05/06)

I saved about $6k, got an R53 (that I like better) and because it was CPO'd I have an extra 50K mi warranty ontop of the 50K mi new car warr.
(I really liked the R53 more than the R56).

Oh, my (1mo old to me) mini:
'06 R53, Dark silver w/ black roof and silver Union Jack roof decal.
17" mini-lites, LSD, multi-fxn 3-spoke steering wheel w/ cruise, and space-gray fabric.

I never would have optioned the car so light, but the only thing I truly miss is a sunroof.

the car was built in Aug. '05, del. in Sept. '06 (so its 1.5yrs old) and had 8200 mi on the Odo.

I spent $20K w/ taxes

I guess I should add

MSFW ... bling. A luxary you can live without if money is tight.

DSC? A nice safety feature but some ppl find it intrusive. You can buy just the DSC for safety

Xenons ... not bling. I forgot about them. I would never buy a car without them now.

I might cagetorize the stereo controls as bling, but the cruise control is a necessity IMHO.

Doesn't cruise control come standard? I think the new R56 will have better resale value. But they are both great cars - can't go wrong with either one
