Hey everyone,

I've been looking at this picture of the clubman, trying to make sense of it all.
Things I like about it:
The sweet suicide doors
Possibly being able to fit full sized adults
Its kinda like a MINI-minivan!

Things I don't like:
Seems like you don't get much bang from your buck (your passengers can cope being shoved into small spaces, we do it now!)
The back end looks horrific.
Its kinda like a MINI-minivan!

Thats just my .02 cents. I would be willing to drive it, if BMW gave me the chance.

Agreed...I don't *love* it, but I do like it a heck of a lot more than any SUV I've seen out on the road.

AWD at least as an option would make it more endearing to my hubby, I'm sure...

Sorry, i disagree. The extra rear seat legroom and extra boot space would be much appreciated (especially as a second car to compliment the MC/MCS).

Right now, i wouldn't dare subject an adult to the backseat of the MC/MCS for anything other than quick trips around town. Being able to have some extra room back there would also open up the possibilities for extended use of the car on roadtrips for families.

Then the extra boot space means you could actually pack a little more normally for a trip if you had to leave the seatbacks up. Right now if the rear seats were occupied by passengers, the boot is only really large enough for a couple of carryon bags.

The R55 makes a lot of sense to me for how it opens up the possible uses for the car, while at the same time, still being shorter than an Audi A3.

I agree with you, that yes, its not a very comfortable ride. But its do able. I've had to ride alot in the back of Minis and its a bit more comfortable than the rear seat of a Porsche. The Clubman does make sense if you are moving alot of stuff around, which the Coopers really arent known for doing.

Maybe the Clubman will bring a whole new market for Mini!
The Mini-minivan!

You can get lots of "stuff" and a 60 lb. dog into a MINI, then travel 1200+ miles.

I for one will be watching for the release of the Traveler/Clubman. I have heard they are having issues with being able to use either name, copyright
infringement.

Well, yes I imagine that you can fit alot into a Mini, but then again I can fit alot into a Corvette. I can see where the clubman will come into play.

I go camping with the Corvette and haven't had any problems. Its quite nice since you have enough room for your stuff since you are only bringing two people.

I just dont like the look of the backend.

Apparently, additional space is/was the very reason for the Clubman....I have a friend who has a classic that once served as a delivery van!

On a contemporary note, I am surprised how many people I talk to who are very interested in exactly what R55 has to offer.
