Sunroof switch replace 2010 r55

Ive been looking and found nothing re: r55

My toggle switch I bought not in great shape. It rattles and now is done.

Has anyone replaced the unit? I have to believe its rudimentary. Found youtube on other model years.

Any insight appreciated

The sunroof toggle switch isn't really a traditional switch.....I don't know the correct terminology, but it's something like this: the toggle presses on a rubber membrane that connects to a circuit board, which tells the computer to open or close the sunroof. It's possible that if the toggle switch itself is loose that opening up the console and tightening everything up might fix it.

This is what it looks like inside after you remove the circuit board. The wires to the circuit board are also very difficult to disconnect....you have to disassemble the unit while its hanging from the ceiling to disconnect them. Then you have to use the dental pick again...all while avoiding having the tiny plastic pieces from going everywhere. Reassembly is a pain....as well as getting the map lights working again....never could get both of mine to light up again.

Pelican Parts has a how to...and ECS has one that would be useful - it's for replacing the interior light bulbs with Ziza LED's. Look under the map lights.
