R55 cooper in a front end accident
cooper in a front end accident
my son is thinking of purchasing a 2010 mini cooper classic 3 door, which was involved in a front end collison 7 years ago ,where the air bag deployed and supposedly everything was fixed by the mini dealership.Took it for a test drive and it drove well and no weird engine noise.Should my son avoid buying this car.
Thanks
Thanks
In my experience, if the mileage has continued to increase during the past 7 years, indicating the car has been continually used, then the car is probably fine. If the mileage since the accident is only slightly higher, then all the issues might not have been vetted out, and I would pass. Certainly, however, with an accident in its past, I would also expect the price to reflect it.
If you can find a good place, have an independent inspection of the car performed. And when you do, don’t mention the accident to the mechanic until after the inspection. If they can’t find any indication of a previous accident, then even better.
