A trio of Interior Shots- I think the last one shows off the LED mood lighting better since I didn't over flash the interior this time while taking it.....
Window switches are of course on the doors, so that's in keeping with the later MINI's anyway, but they're still throwing in the odd Rocker switch here and there. The very Prominent Start Toggle in the lower center of the Dash.
This vehicle also had the Heads Up Display, which you can just make out over the steering wheel in the 2nd picture. Dished unit on the top of the dash, above the Cluster.

Hah...Not a chance until I actually get to drive one early next year. For me, my Clubman is my fun factor car. It also happens to be practical as well.
The new one looks practical , but no commitment from us yet...

Yes, its does look long. How is that new seat texture with the lines and door panel. Also the dash trim. On the launch car the red / purple look like wood. Bit it was not.

That interior is a special option, you get Leather and Corduroy Cloth combo, with the matching Corduroy Cloth add-ons to the Door panel. I worry that sliding in and out of the Drivers seat will wear the cloth that's on the outer supports/cushion sections of the seat bottom over time..
For the short time we were in the seats, they felt comfy, and you have the thigh support that's adjustable in the front since the Seats are the Sport seats.
Although it's not a color I would choose for my own cars, I'd like to see the new Blue leather option in person, haven't really seen Blue interior like that since 80's BMWs, and they didn't have the stitching on them that is supposed to honor English Furniture design.
Although they DID offer Water Buffalo hide as an option......
ah, days of E-23 745's gone past......

Water Buffalo hides!
Great.
We'll be able to hose out the interior.

Just ordered a burgundy S one today! The word is maybe January. We're apparently the second order at our dealership. Its a gorgeous car with room in the back for our two recumbent trikes, folded. Hooray.

Congratulations, what interior choice did you end up with?
I like the black interior but also want to see the lighter one in person once they start arriving at dealerships next year.
I love my 2012 Clubman, but I have family members eyeing up the 4 door new version Clubman since they prefer getting in and out of our Countryman over my MINI....
But if I'm 'pushed' into a new car by family,,,,,ah, I'll TAKE it....

We chose burgundy leather with the burgundy trim. We actually got to see a beautiful black one yesterday at our dealership. I can't imagine any color won't be fantastic! Now we're debating on which of our two it will replace, my 2008 Sidewalk cabrio (our first mini) or my husband's 2013 hardtop. Probably his. Love my MINI cabrio. We are so excited. The waiting begins!

We are so very lucky! And we're leaning towards keeping the fantastic Sidewalk. Its my favorite car ever! I smile every single time I get in it. Can't beat that.

Dealer Unveil

Just popped into dealer for my R53- lo and behold...today is their (mini of peabody) Clubman unvailing!!! These guys are pretty amped about tonights event. Its not on the showroom yet but a staff member gave me a walk-thru. It's super nice, largest production Mini to date (length) but I feel like it's scaled well and nice lines to NOT make it look too big.

Am I the only one who mourns the concept of MINI? That thing is immense!

Absolutely zero chance I'd replace my 08 with one.

I completely agree, I'm sure there will be a market for this vehicle but its not what I want. My clubman is the perfect size, and probably the last 2-door (well, 3 door a ctually) wagon ever made. Its a sad day

It's OK, people. Change is OK. If you want a small Mini, you can get one, and now if you want a bigger one you can get one too. We've got a 2013 Clubman and might consider a 2016 as a downsize from our Mazda CX-9.

IMO, the new clubman is a departure from the previous model in more than one ways. Much larger and more station wagon like - the only thing it shares with my 2014 clubbie is the name. What I don't understand for the life of me is why would BMW do this? Having three models in its lineup offering similar things (new clubman, countryman, and four door hardtop) with minimal design and functionality differences. All three apply to the same target audience - it will be interesting to see if clubman sales will cannibalize future countryman or hardtop sales. Don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to change and welcome a radical redesign of the model. The new model however should keep a few characteristics from the original otherwise what's the point? What's next? A minivan named clubman?

I predict the next generation clubman (if it survives till then) will go back to the clubby door design.

Earlier this week, we got our F54 Training from MINI and it was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! However, the biggest thing was the direction MINI is going. Something we forget (as MINI says its done) MINI is a premium brand. This is what we will be going BACK to. For those who purchased a first gen new, you might remember this.

My dealer has their event next week. I'm definitely going to drop by and take a look. Everyone I've talked to who has seen one in person has nothing but positive things to say about it.

Went to the autoshow and got a good look at the 2016 Clubman S. My impressions is overall I like it but I bet the go-kart size and handling is gone do to it's larger size. Solid build quality fit and finish. When I asked the Hottie Mini spokesperson spitting off specs I knew I wouldn't have no problem holding onto our current R55.

I'm waiting to drive one before I fully decide to take the plunge on it. Family members are coveting the extra rear doors since they like getting in and out of our Countryman over my Clubman, but I love driving my Clubman more than the Countryman especially as a daily driver in traffic.
So, I wait for January to roll around.
