My MINI's steering feels wrong

A couple weeks ago I bought a 2008 Clubman S with 106000 miles on it. The car has a very comprehensive service history and is in perfect mechanical order, took it to a MINI dealer and had them inspect the car to see if anything was wrong with it and they told me everything was perfect; however, I was driving on the highway the other day and went over a couple potholes going ~85 mph and felt like I nearly lost control of the car, the steering felt very loose, as if it wasn't even connected to the car, and ever since then it's happened a couple more times even going ~35 mph turning left on city streets. I have a 2015 S hatchback and had a 2013 Clubman S and don't recall this ever happening and I'm positive this isn't normal, I'm thinking the something in the suspension might need to be replaced, maybe the struts, but I'm not sure what it could be, should I take it to the dealer and tell them this problem specifically and see what they tell me?

Dealer and an Indy shop, between the two you should get a diagnosis. I had a wobble in my bmw at 50 mph and dealer told me several thousands in repair. Indy quoted me half the amount and wound up only replacing one part for a few hundred. Fixed!

All right, thanks, I'll check it out next week, going to the dealer to get a few accessories I ordered.

Well with 106,000 miles yes you need new struts. The control are bushings are likely worn to dust too.
