New to MINI. Wheel?

Hello, New MINI owner here. Just bought a 2010 Clubman S. Black on Black. 6spd Man. Had it for about a week. So far it's been fun to drive. It currently has factory 17" wheels. I'm think about going to 18 inch wheels. I have been doing some searching on here, but have not found the information that I'm looking for.

What is the widest wheels and biggest offset I can go? as well as the biggest tire without rubbing. The car is currently stock height, but may lower it an inch in the future.

these are the wheels I have been looking at.

2 crave Mach M5 - 18x8 offset +42

Katana CR5 - 18x7.5 offset +45

Ruff Racing R354 - 18x8 offset +40

XXR 941 - 18x7.5 offset +42

Tires. I'm thinking a 225/35 or 225/40.

Let me know what you think.

The 18 inch will look great, but beat you up on a bad road, and you will feel every little road lump. its a trade off.

I went from 16" factory runflats to 17" non run flats and the ride is about the same, 18" will make your clubman ride HARSH.

But if your into looks more than ride that's up to you. Kinda how I feel about Harley riders

Mine are 17 x 7.5 -45 215/45 and get a tad of inner fender rub when loaded , not enough to notice or bother me, and factory height.

Yes, I'm aware of the ride. I have had cars before with 18"s and 19"s. Just trying to figure out what will fit on the car without issues.

I have read that the H&R coilovers ride better than stock even with it being lowered. Is that a true statement?
