Streaming Bluetooth Audio?

I have a 2008 Justa, with Bluetooth and whatever the jack in the center armrest is. It syncs just fine with my IP4s for handsfree phone use, including syncing my contacts list. I don't have music on my phone; I commonly use either Sirius or an iPod for that, but I do have podcasts. When using the iPod, I plug in through the USB/mini jack combination in the center cubbyhole.

SWMBO's Ford Fiesta has all that, but I discovered, essentially by accident, that it will also stream audio through the sound system. I have to control changes in programming via the phone, but having it link up without a plugin is pretty slick.

Can anyone tell me whether the MINI BT setup will allow streaming of audio/music? Thx!

Short of using an aftermarket bluetooth adapter, the only way to get streaming music is to have MINI Connected. The standard audio system (even with the H/K upgrade) does not support bluetooth streaming.

Thx. I figured as much. The pace of change in mobile electronics is pretty brisk. I can live with plug-in connectivity for tunes ... until the next vehicle.

it has nothing to do with the pace of change and everything to do with MINI wanting to make people spend money to get Mini Connected to do what a 15k Ford Fiesta can do. the ability to stream music over bluetooth is not a new development.
