Oil and boost gauges
I was wondering where people have purchased their oil and boost gauges at. Also I know this sounds stupid, but I don't think I would know how to install the gauges myself.. Has any paid anyone to install the gauges for them?

I got a boost and temp gauge from alta, i liked the bigger size. Alta has full installation instructions online, read those first to check your comfort level. Regardless of manufacturer or supplier, the process is pretty much the same.

I bought my gauges from StreetUnit.com They had the best prices on the interwebs as far as I could find. I bought the ProSport Premium gauges which are the same gauges Alta uses in their package deals.
I just got everything bought today and will hopefully be installing this weekend!

I actually was looking at that one and I got pretty confused :-(
I don't want to mess anything up by trying to install something that isn't plug and play so to speak ya know.
I'll def be waiting for your update on how the install went. do you work on cars at all or will this be your first job like it would for me?
It shouldn't be very hard. I've done all of the mods in my sig myself. I'm soon going to try to install NM lowering springs myself. Before my MINI I had never touched anything mechanical on a car. I did plenty of electrical work but nothing in the engine. So far everything I've done seems fairly straightforward as long as you can follow directions, have a decent set of hand tools, a jack with stands, and patience.
The 5 parts I listed are basically the same thing that come in most kits. The only thing that's easier would be gauges that plug into your OBD2 port but I don't think you can monitor everything from that.

The thing that scares me is drilling into the center console and messing with the wires. All I see is me doing this, then two hours later I take her for a mess and now my windows won't go up and cold means hot lol
(Honestly I never really worked on cars at all in my life, but I feel like doing this myself this help me understand and bond with my baby even more)

I don't think there's any drilling required. If you use the gauge cups they attach to two screws that are already on the back of the tach. The only wiring that you have to do which involves the car is finding a power source for the gauges. There's a really good guide around here somewhere that shows exactly which fuse to use.
I say buy the parts to do at least one gauge. Start with something simple, like a boost gauge. Then once you have that successfully done, then move on to something harder like an oil pressure gauge. I think you will be fine. Plus you have all of us to help you out if you run into a problem.
