I feel like I belong now.

I dropped my son-in-law off at a car rental agency today (any excuse to drive somewhere in the three week old Clubman).

As I am backing out of the parking space, I see someone pointing at my car. I double check to make sure I'm not backing into a pole, and then begin to pull out. The guy who was pointing gets out of his car, motioning at me to roll my window down, and starts coming toward me on foot. I stop, and roll the window down.

"Hey, did you know one of your lights is burned out!?" he says. "Only one of your backup lights is working!"

I smiled and thanked him.

I guess I'm officially a MINI Clubman owner now.

First time it hapened to me was at a MINI gathering. It is kind of funny to see people's expressions when you tell them that it's supposed to be that way.

Haha, my best friend pointed that out to me about a month after owning mine.. I told him it's designed that way.

I also showed him the headlight washers on the front of the car and his mind was blown.. Pretty entertaining. I'm still finding funny little quirks about my car even after three months of owning it..

For example.. If you don't have auto-on wipers, your wipers will slow down to the slowest setting if your stopped at a stoplight?

I definitely love the look on their faces

I'd probably say (assuming it's daytime) that the other one comes on after dusk, and it's an energy saving feature. Because the car gets 73mpg highway.

But alas I don't have a Clubman, and my car has the center positioned solo light, so it's obvious why only one illuminates.

I get that constantly. I think my wife has told me a few times herself

Curious, can someone recommend a brighter replacement lights that doesn't throw a code? Seeing out the back at night with tinted windows can be a bit of a pain.
