09' JCW alternator pulley issue...
I want to start by saying the problem was taken care of the dealer but here's my story...
Recently bought an 09' JCW Clubman with ~12k miles on it. Has some modifications (Koni struts, NM springs, Helix FMIC, torque arm). I put about 500 miles on it when the belt decided to fall off the alternator pulley. Red battery light indicator came on along with a horrendous belt squeal. Had it towed in...MINI said they've never seen this happen before. Put a new belt on it and about 50 miles later it falls off again. I had it towed back and this time they replaced the belt and pulley. They said the pulley was wobbly.
Has anyone had a similar problem or is this some freak issue? I've put a decent amount of miles on the car since they replaced both and it hasn't happened again.
