Need help sourcing a turbo.

Hi

Trying to help my brother out on his car. Don't have much info on it but the car is a 2009 Clubman Cooper S automatic. His car is 5000 miles past the warranty.

He had the check engine light come on and car started to run poorly. He took it to the dealer and the dealer told him that his turbo needs to be replaced. He is trying to see if the dealer will "goodwill" and change it under warranty but in case that doesn't happen I will be replacing it for him.

Any ways, where can I find a replacement turbo that doesn't cost $1400+?

Thanks

$1400 seems crazy because you can get a ball bearing turbo upgrade kit for $1995

All new turbos sit right around 1400-2200. Junk yards (but you run your luck) or someone selling theirs (like ThumperMCS).
