Measurement of Barn Doors

Hi,

Not yet a Mini owner. Now thinking of going with the Clubman S instead.

What are the measurements, top to bottom and across, of the rear opening with both barn doors open?

Thanks in advance!

I have a basic Clubman. The ceiling to the carpeted area is a hair over 25". The opening is curved. At its widest point, it's about 40". The barn doors are bent near the hinge area so they are clear of the 40" area. Kudos to MINI for that because it makes it easy to load a bulky item. The width from one door (measured from the map pocket of one door to the other) to the other side is about 55-56". My measurements are not totally exact as I can't find my stupid tape measure so I had to improvise with a 14" ruler.

Forgot to add: MINI DID stretch the rear seating area to install the third Club door so your passengers get about 2" more leg room. Trust me, they'll be glad if you choose that over a standard MINI. I've driven both and nobody over age 12 is going to fit in the back of an R56 unless the front passenger sacrifices by moving the seat forwards. Even then, it's a bit of a tight fit. Makes the Clubman feel huge by comparison but that's just me; I'm sure my mom would have beaten me to death if I had bought an R56! She loves that extra door. If kids sit in the back, don't worry about them pulling on the handle. The front door, when closed, trips a latch that locks it so it doesn't matter if the door locks are up or down. The kids can't open the door unless the front door is opened. I'm still bummed out that they didn't install two Club doors like on some Ford pickups. The only thing bad about a Clubman is having to run around the car to let the back seat passenger out. And if you're worried about trunk space, go to the thread "Will THAT fit in a Clubman." These owners blow me away by how much stuff they can cram into the back!

Thanks for the help, beasleyboy. I appreciate it. Wish there was a dealership close by so I could measure for myself.

Best,

One thing that beaslyboy did not mention is that the interior is NOT as wide side to side as the opening at the doors. The seatback stops are narrower than the opening at the doors and is only 32" much of the other paneling in the back is only 37" wide.
