Oil Catch Can / Intake Question(s)

I'm not sure if this has been discussed here before, but I thought I'd throw the question out there to see what the greater minds of N.A.M. had to offer.

So, I installed a K&N aftermarket cold air intake (as many of you guys have) a few weeks ago and really enjoy it.

However, I read from a few various sources (M7 and the like) that an oil catch can is also a good thing to have when using an aftermarket intake.

So my questions are:

1). Is the catch can indeed a good thing to have on an R55?

2). If so, is it worth the $150 (or so) investment?

3). If you have one / want one; do you have any "must know" advice to offer?

Thanks a lot!

there is a lot more about this subject in the Modifications Section as this is common to all the second gen models.

1. Yes it will save you headaches later. The R55/56 is prone to intake valve buildup.
2. Yes
3. If you are only going to install one can, install in on the valve cover to intake manifold side. You will catch more oil there than on the turbo inlet hose side IMO.
