Clubman Comparison

After having traded in my '05 cabrio not long ago I'm looking at getting another MINI. The dealer has a Nightfire Clubman auto that has most of what I'm looking for. I guess I'll find out about it in a couple of days when I can go look at it but wanted to know what to expect. How would it compare to my old S cabrio as far as driving, room, etc? They also have a new s vert so guess about the same question?

Any help would be much appreciated

Hello

I love my Clubman, however they don't handle quite as tight on a race track, for everyday driving they do very well , and actually ride smoother.
I have an Auto also, try it with the SPORT button pressed, you will love it.
Smoother ride, more storage space, whats not to like !!

Let us know what YOU think after you drive it.
If it has the Multi Function Steering Wheel try the paddle shifters with the SPORT button pressed!!

Clubman

When I drove one, I thought the regular Clubman didn't have enough Giddy up and go... Then I drove the Clubman S.. IT ROCKS
This is the one I went with for my tastes. Try them both, then decide.
Keep in mind the Clubman is heavier, so my thoughts is it would need the extra ponies under the bonnet.
Never have regretted my decision. If I set Cruise at 55 I can get into the low 40's MPG, that is with NO FUN though.

You will find that the R55, R56 and R57 are almost the same from the B pillar forward. Being in an R55 or R56, you'll loose that "open air" feeling, but the R55 will have the added utility of being able to carry 4 people in relative comfort and, with the rear seats down, the amount of space is amazing. (I have carried 8' 2X4s with the rear doors closed.) Under normal driving conditions, there won't be much of a noticeable difference. There will be a difference if driven with vigor.
Take an extended test drive so that you can judge for yourself. Be sure to cover as many variable conditions, as you can. Having owned a MINI, you know what to expect.
Good luck. You'll be happy with whichever you decide on.

Agreed. I think the non-S Clubbie might be a disappointment to you if you've been driving an S cabrio. See if you can find some hills on your test drive. You'll notice the difference right away, I think.

Best of luck with your decision!
