Yea LI sucks for car insurance. I was paying $2300 a year for my mini when I was up there. In Virginia I pay $800 a year and my coverage is twice as good.

I went from a 2dr Honda Accord Coupe to a Clubman. They can call it whatever they want, but I love the fact that my 6 month premium is a $180 cheaper now with the MINI.

I am in Italy so the insurance is expensive over here, but obviously not as bad as NY. $1300 a year with multi-car, multi-year, and renters insurance tied to it with USAA. It cost $500 more a year than my wife’s 04 Mazda MPV minivan. I have seen it listed as a wagon several places. I just don't think they really know what to list it as since it is a unique vehicle.

1950 every six months is definately on the high end for coverage. With one accident on my record we pay 1200 a year on two vehicles through Hartford insurance AARP policy. I tried USAA way too high and Geico way too high. I would shop around.

Oh I have been, so far thats the best I can get. Mind you I'm 18 on my own insurance with full coverage and full collision on a 6 month old car. Its actually not that bad of a deal.
