Problem with Clubman Rear Cargo Cover

I recently went to reinstall my Rear Cargo Cover and discovered that the black plastic tips that go into the metal rod at the section of the cover nearest to the rear seat were missing. After some hunting I found one of them and discovered that they pull out of the rod easily. Has anybody else had this problem? How do you keep them from falling out and getting lost?

I'd throw some glue to hold them in place ... mine are tight

I had the same problem with the black plastic tips on my 08. I solved it by wrapping the end of the plug with a little scotch tape and gently forcing it back into the end of the aluminum rod. Now they stay in place and I haven't had a problem since. The ends are not sufficiently crimped into the rods. It's silly that MINI hasn't caught this by now.

When I got my MINI, new, it was missing that exact tip (closest to rear-seats). Ended up doing a dealer trip (for that and other issues) to "resolve" it.

I wonder if we shouldn't all just put some glue in there, I see no reason to ever want them out.

Same problem here since day one on one of the tip, finally use crazy glue to it and it stay there ever since... MINI need to offer a new crazy glue package (Free upgrade ) for us for 2010.
