What is the tallest tire profile I can get for my Clubman S with 17" wheels?

Can't deal with these run-flats so I'm going to change them out. I want to get the tallest profile possible but I know there's not much room in there. What is the tallest I would be able to use?

Thanks much!

hard to say. tires vary by manufacturer... but without looking utterly rediculous maybe a 215/45?...225/45?

if you stay skinny, maybe you could possibly fit a 50 but its going to look wierd

youll throw the speedo off...good way to put less miles on the car lol

if your just going for a cushier ride then id suggest a 16" rim. and also if thats the case, i was informed (after buying tires) that some have like an XL sidewall (many for load rating) that makes them stiffer, like the Eagle GTs i bought

I am running 225x45x17 Pirelli PZero Nero All Season with BC coilovers and no issues at all.

I run 205/55R16s with no issues. The 225/45R17s are only .10 inches taller in diameter, so that should be no problem (as far as height). A 215/50R17 is about another .5 inches taller. A 225/50R17 would be a full inch taller than my tires. I think the wheel well would hold that straight up, but I'm not sure if it might create some rubbing issues on turns or over bumps.

Thanks, all. I think I'm going to go for Bridgestone G019 205/45. They seem to be very well liked/rated and my local tire shop recommends them highly, as well.

Now I just have to figure out if I want to swap out the black web rims for matte silver ones (I had no choice as the car came with 'em and it's very hard to find other manual Clubman S's in British Racing Green!).

you could easily do a 215/45 on those... and if you upgrade wheels to something lighter (stockers are hhheeeavy) youll notice a positive difference in handling
