My Clubman S sounds like a diesel when it is started in colder weather. Just today with 50 degree temps the engine valve noisesare equal to a month ago when it was 20 degrees. Given a few minutes the chorus of rattling valves quite down to smooth engine idle.

What have others experienced?

 

I meant to include my Clubman has 10500 miles on the engine. I have done an oil and filter change using high grade synthetic. I run nothing but 93 octane Shell or Marathon and occasionally BP.

Hey Tom,
I live in N.Ky area so we're pretty close and I assume we bought thru the same dealer in Cinti., Have you brought this to their attention? I complained when I took my Clubman in last fall for some other things and they couldn't hear it and pretty much acted like they didn't know of the problem. (likely, doing what they're told to do)
Mine isn't as frequent as it was in the past but it still concerns me.
