For those of you reading who have not yet ordered, once your order is submitted and you get a production number, have your MA send you a Vehicle Inquiry Report (VIR). I caught two missing options that I had corrected. I would have been totally PO'd it the car had come in with the wrong stuff. Tires and interior in my case.

Just my opinion, but when you're spending this much money for a new car, particularly a Mini which emphasizes "you-ification", shouldn't you get exactly what you ordered? Screw ups happen, but in this case you don't have to live with it. Just order another one and demand it to be perfect. Why settle for less?

BTW, I may have missed the answer, but someone had asked if the VIN# matched. Did it? I don't mean the paperwork they sent you, I mean the actual VIN # on the car.

I'd either ask for money off the price quoted or demand they add the nicer radio and/or Sirius. A professionally run organization will try to make you, the customer, happy. You're in the driver's seat (pun intended).

Just wanted to thank everyone who chimed in, gave advice and .02 worth. It seems that the only real mistake in production is is the liner and interior pillars so far. Roof rack / bike rack could have been mine but I would have argued that one for the heck of it. I think I will go check the car out, probably make them fix it and then give me something for the time and aggravations & stress for this plus the two trips of 130 mile round trip to then bring the car back to be fixed and then to pick it up. I need the car as my emmissions inspection expires at end of month and do not want to pay $1,600 to fix it. Thank you again.

I'd agree with the OP and definitely not let the dealer try to rectify the headliner. That's not going to end well. As to the roof rack, if you were closer, I'd say get the dealer to "throw it in," and I'd buy it from you.
