R55 Only Clubman in town?
Only Clubman in town?
I heard about Parkerton's challenge and realized, for a while, I'll probably be the only person in town with a Clubman! Not that I'm complaining as I'll get bragging rights for a little while! On the other hand, I'm worried that I'll be constantly approached by people asking me questions about it. For over two MONTHS, I've seen only ONE Clubman on the streets of Texas. This is just weird considering that Mini of Dallas has four on the lot that say "Sold" on their price tags.
Do you have a Clubman and it seems nobody else in your town does?
Do people constantly stop and stare or take pictures of it?
Do they ask you a lot about the Club door or the rear doors?
A long time ago, my dad drove me to Amsterdam for vacation. We must have been one of the VERY few people in the city with an Audi A6. When the A6 first came out, he was already on the waiting list for one but had to wait two months to get it because it was still under assembly. Quite a few people took pictures of the car when we were in Holland. Fortunately, they must have been foreign tourists because they didn't stop to pepper dad with questions about the car. Makes me wish I lived in Germany (on the other hand, I'm not ready to pay $5-6 a gallon for premium fuel yet! My dad was paying about $3-4 a gallon back then! The US? Barely $2 a gallon!). I'd love to take a Clubman S on the autobahn to see how it handles. I have driven on it with my dad's A6 and it responds like a train on rails (If you're curious, I averaged about 85-90 mph the entire trip to keep the jerks in the Porsches from rear-ending me!). The steering was perfectly balanced and it never felt like it lacked any power (if you plan to add an Audi to your garage, Quattro drive makes a difference, trust me!).

Beasley, you're not alone.
I haven't seen one in DFW yet.
I know of one in Fort Worth and another in Dallas.
Both dudes are on this site.
There's no bag limit on Clubman for the contest; it's a snipe hunt here.

1st HC Clubman in Ga Supposedly
I ordered my Clubman in February and according to the dealer I was the first person to order a HC in Georgia. Who knows if that is true or if they were just trying make me feel special.
I know was the 1st person to order a Clubman in Warner Robins but another club member bought a red one one off the lot so he was the first to own a Clubman in town. So far we are the only two.
I beat the gas price driven rush and ordered mine in February. The curoisty began at the dealer and they finally put my cover on it in the showroom until I could pick it up.
One guy in the showroom almost lost his arm while I was picking it up. The salesman was giving me my familiarization tour. I was in the front seat my wife was in the backseat and the salesman was in the drivers seat. There wer adopted signs all over the car and some jerk just opened the rear doors. The salesman saw the the look on my face so he quickly got out and escorted the gentleman away. They ended up coning it off until we could everything done.
I was also judging a car show and during the awards ceremony my wife left it unlocked. When she went back some jerk was sitting in it. Once again he is lucky wasn't there since I would probably would have wound up in jail.
I don't mind people admiring my car but you don't just walk up and open doors etc.
I am still giving "tours" amd they always go like this.
That one is different isn't it?
I really like the color.
Wow there is alot of room in there.
Honey look at thos cute back doors.
What kind of gas mileage does it get? (Eyes perk up)
How much? (That much for that little thing) I ordered quite a few options.
