Please add my name to the long list of those wishing you support and comfort. I lost a 3 1/2 yr old golden about a year ago to lymphoma and its just really sad. No other way to put it. They do wrap themselves around your heart and it breaks to see them suffer and pass on. I've also lost a son, so there's really no comparison, but its just a different thing. I'll be praying for you, if you receive things like that. Hope you find another good agility dog. my best, david

Ed and Kris -

I just saw your thread and I am so very sorry to hear about Bosque's passing. Although I didn't know Bosque personally, it certainly sounds as though he had a great spirit and a wonderful impact on your lives. Having lost furry family members myself over the years, I understand how hard it is. Please know that Emma (my 11 year old bichon frise) and I are thinking of you and wishing you well during this sad time.

Oh how my heart breaks for you. As I sit here in tears, I know your pain all too well. I am mom to 3 beautiful Labradors, and was mom to 3 before that have since crossed the Bridge...the most recent being my 13 yr old chocolate girl Shelby, in January. My babies are all rescues, and will always be rescues.

There is only time that can help to ease your pain. When you are ready, you will open your heart again and rescue another.

Dogs give us all of their unconditional love, 100% every single day. I think that must be why their lives are so short. They have a lot to teach us, and I know I am a better person because of them.

Sending you and your family a big cyber hug. I am so sorry for your loss of Bosque.

I have some amazing news! I know it's way too early to get a new dog, but I have an offer I just can't turn down. My trainer found me someone who is a Navy family and they just can't keep their two 2 year old yellow labs because of deployment issues and health issues so they need a home. I went to visit them today and they immediately bonded with me. I plan on bringing them home Friday after we get the house ready and I finish my tribute to Bosque in our study. Looking forward to years of training with these dogs (the current owner just does not have the time the dogs need to do this). I will train them for Basic Obedience and Agility and get their companion dog CD eventually. I also told the family that they could visit the dogs any time and watch us perform on weekends when we do training. The dogs were brother and sister and have incredibly wonderful pleasant personalities. I think Bosque sent them to me, knowing how important training is to me each day and how I would miss him and that so quickly! When I get them Friday, I will post pics.

Congratulations to you and to the new dogs, too. I am so pleased that Bosque helped find new friends to start to fill the hole in your heart.

I have never believed that you have to wait a certain time after losing an old friend to find a new one. For me finding a new pup or adoptee is more of a tribute to how much your friend meant to you. I don't think it does a disservice to their memory. No other one can take their place, but new dogs can help take your mind of dwelling on the sadness of losing your friend.

These two labs came to you for a purpose and I am so glad they can stay together.

Best of luck with your new family.
