Hello-
It's nice to meet y'all.
Thanks to the CARS program, I was able to buy a new MINI!
I have had my 09 PW Clubman S for 2 weeks now and am having a blast.
Will try to post some pics soon.
This forum is great!

Welcome fellow pw :-)

For some reason I can't get the PW badge working in my signature - looks right when I preview my signature, but it's just a link here

Hey tattedXB -
I like your Nikon camera too!
Wish I could help you with the PW badge thing.
I couldn't get it to work either and messed around with it for a long time.
Suddenly - it started to appear in my posts.
I have no idea why.
Certain things on my MINI seem to operate the same way.
It keeps it interesting!

I gave Little Wing her first bath yesterday.

So many beautiful clubbies and some great photographers too.
I need to work on my skill.
No one can believe that I am now taking pictures of my car!

I have so much to learn about my MINI.
It happened so fast, due to the CARS program.
I suddenly found myself in a position to buy a new car and hadn't done any research.
Time was of the essence.
I am still rather stunned by it all, but know that I made the right choice.
I love Little Wing.
I really appreciate all of the helpful peeps on this site.

Beautiful!
That pic made me think that a little drive would be fun.
I went to find my DH to see if he wanted to go, but he wasn't around.
Then, I went outside and realized that Little Wing is gone too!
And he thought that I was being silly for insisting on buying a MINI.
Well, he can have his Toyota Avalon or trade it in for his own MINI!
LOL
Man, oh, man - is he ever in trouble now...

hahaha! I'd been looking for a new car for over a year before I found the Clubman. It just so happened my DH and I were browsing a magazine together when we saw it—and exclaimed "What's THAT?" He loved the car as much as I did and encouraged me to buy her upon the first test drive. Most of the time I'm really good about sharing.

Sis-tahs!
Pipra is the first PW/S/S I've seen since Little Wing came home.
Pipra is so very pretty.

I wasn't able to custom order Little Wing as I bought her under the CARS program and had to take a car already in inventory. It was during the second wave of funds for the program, and I feared the money would run out again while I tried to make a choice. My dealer's inventory was low as they were blowing MINIs out the door through CARS. A DS/S, leather seats, Clubbie that I really liked sold while I was trying to make up my mind. Silly me, I thought that I wanted CR, LB, or BRG. There were some available at other dealers. Well, it was hard to justify the cost of having another color shipped from another dealer. I had already had a harrowing drive in my clunker from Tallahassee to Jacksonville. During that trip it appeared that I was going to have to have it towed and repaired in order to be able to drive it onto the dealer's lot. No way I was going to try and drive that poor old minivan another few hundred miles to another dealer! On top of that, DH was not behind this purchase and I needed to make my move and put the controversy to rest. So, Little Wing's color looked better and better to me.
Little Wing was the bird in hand.

Now, I am delighted that she is Pepper White.
Truly, I think that all of the colors are beautiful.
All that I had added to Little Wing were an armrest, the roof racks, and the silver bonnet stripes. She came with the Premium package, 6 speed manual transmission, iPOD/Bluetooth, and her Bridge Spoke wheels.
Ummm, I do have a few after market items on order.

I really like your screen name and sig.
PW/S/S is so elegant!
I am really happy that I ended up with PW, in spite of myself.

DH has since fallen head over heels in love with Little Wing. I headed out for a doctor's appt this AM and the two of them were off together again! Name: waiting.gif

I don't mind sharing, but I am going to have to request that he ask first in the future.

I know Hillsdale well, from my old stomping days in Great Barrington...a long, long time ago when I attended Simon's Rock College. It is beautiful up there.

So sad I couldn't make it to Lime Rock to see you and everyone!

somehow forgot to post in this thread. picked mine up in the end of June. I was driving an Audi S4 Avant, great car - but bad mpg. So with driving 200+ miles M-F the gas costs were quite high. I got a great trade-in on it, as I only had 60k miles on it. I had been wanting a MINI for years & am even happier to have gotten a JCW. (I also hadn't owned a manual before, though had rented plenty & driven one across country)

So 3 days post ownership, I drove from Philly to Lake Placid, NY on July 4th weekend(the thruway was a great learning manual transmission experience)

I've recently stopped in to get the JCW side scuttles added(the chrome OEM are ugly), as well as new mats & a JCW steering wheel(makes a huge difference).

not much else to do on it. I have HiFi(needed to change some speakers), Convenience, Cold Weather, Premium. Looking for solution to get the LeMans stripes below the grill, & not sure of any other mods just yet. (probably will get black wheels for snow tires) Also going to get a rack for kayak & ski/snowboard, maybe even bike

Hi sleepera8 and welcome!

You've got yourself a real beauty there.
I had not driven a manual in about 20 years, but it all came back quickly and it is a blast.
As far as roof racks go, here is a thread on self installation of the OEM roof racks:

Installation of OEM roofrack

I hope that helps.

If you shop around, you may find some good deals on the racks themselves. I have heard that they are available on eBay at times.

I had my installed by the dealer, before I realized that the racks are completely removable and can be installed by the owner. I paid a lot of money for work that I may have been able to do myself.
On the other hand, if there are any problems with my dealer installed rack, such as leaky windows, I can return to the dealer for a fix.

I guess that I will find out this weekend whether or not I've got a leak. The forecast is for hard and persistent rain this weekend. So much for motoring much this weekend.

Have fun with your new MINI.
Awesome car!

Sign me up. We got our Clubman in September. Tried to do Cash for Clunkers with our old Jaguar, but had a paperwork snafu. By the time the clunker deal fell through, mid-life crisis had set in and I couldn't give up the Clubbie. So now there's two British cars in my driveway...which I believe proves I'm not the smartest guy on the block.

Anybody looking for a good deal on an XJ6?
