My Clubman has ruined me for driving big cars
So, I've had Otto for 3 months now and have hardly driven my husband's Nissan Titan. I never really liked the 11 mpg truck anyway as it is so hard to see out the back end. I only drive it in bad weather or to get dirt for the garden or take the dogs to the vet.
I got out at the vet today and got snagged on the truck's tail light. I looked and it was cracked. I then realized I must have done it trying to back out at Home Depot. They had all of their barbecues in a huge corral that extended out into the parking lot. I knew I had bumped it but didn't realize I cracked the light.
Geez, I would dump that truck in an instant if it was mine. The Clubman is sooo easy to get in and out without hitting something.
I've been driving for 39 years and never ever backed into something before. At least the Suburban has visibility and is easy to handle, but the Titan is so hard to deal with. A police friend who has one said he backed right over the front end of a car without seeing it even with backup sensors. I guess I'm in good company.

No one wants those trucks now days anyway, and most dealerships have stopped taking them as trade ins. Full size trucks and V8 gas guzzlers are a very hard sell these days.
Keep the truck and enjoy it. They aren't worth much as their resale has taken a huge hit.

As for your new-found joy with your smaller Clubman. Welcome to the club! My first car was a Triumph 250 (2 seater). That was 40 years ago, and I've tried (not always successfully) to keep my cars small ever since.
My wife used to drive a Jeep Liberty. We traded it for her 04 MINI. Now, that's all she wants to drive. She despises driving my Silverado, and she didn't like my old Murano either.
Yesterday at work, someone in a Grand Marquis parked next to me. I look straight down on my car from my office window, so it was very funny to see how big the footprint of the Grand Marquis was compared to the Clubman.

I totally agree - I feel lucky I was able to unload my big Titan truck over at Carmax when I did and got $500 under blue book for it. Soon, Carmax probably won't even take them since they had row upon row of big trucks and SUV's that no one was even looking at.
I got my CM a few weeks ago on a Wed. That following Fri, I sold my old car (98 caddi deVille). On the way to sell it, I felt like I had to re-learn how to drive. It's such an incredible difference!
It is my husband's truck anyway. He can no longer drive so I only use it for grocery shopping and taking loads of junk to my shop dumpster or vet visits for the Greyhounds and Doberman. They love it.
I never liked it, but it gives Richard hope that if he can ever walk again he will have his truck. It's paid for and he pays its expenses so it's ok. Just a whale to drive. Actually I named it Moby, the great white whale.
The Suburban has his wheelchair lift so that is totally just used for his medical/transportation needs. Again, he pays for that one, too.
I've always had smaller cars (Mustangs, Miata, Z3, 330 Cic, Toyota Celica (long ago), so the Mini is perfect for my world and with any luck I'll have one for the rest of my life.
