Oil problem?

The other day I was driving rather spirited with lots of cornering and braking and a message came on my screen that said my oil pressure was down or something.. it was gone before I could read it!

Should I worry?

Other than that, I already have 8200 km without zero problems.. no cold start rattling issues too..

Have you checked the oil level?

Some of us think it a good idea to change the oil between the recommended service interals, especially during break-in. There are a number of threads on the subject in the Coupe section.

Take it back to the garage and have them check the engine just in case. Those type of warning messages are not to be taken lightly.

Who is your MINI garage?

Im guessing your oil level is low and the g forces in the turns you were doing pushed the oil too far to one side maybe away from a sensor???

That sounds plausible. Probably nothing serious.

So William, did you check your oil level, yet? It is very easy to do, and is important to do so regularly.

Open the bonnet, pull out the oil dipstick, wipe off the oil film, put dipstick back in, wait a couple of seconds, remove dipstick and observe where the oil level is. Don't continue to drive around if the oil level is below the minimum level marking. If you need to add oil, be sure to use synthetic 5w-30.
