The middle-rear cup holder is chrome.
Yeah, I think that's incorrect, but I can't speak to the clubman configs.

I have Premium, and CL on my R56 S.

yeah ... i have the transmission surround, but the others nyet ...

so I have

a/c vents (4)
speedo (1)
tach (1)
tranny (1)

so I have 7 ... and 9 missing

honestly I really don't want them to rip my door panels off to put them on and I am OK with the cupholders not having them either ... however at this point I only have less than 50% of what should be there ... so about $140 in missing stuff.

hmmm ... you mentioned a Nuvi before OTRA?

I haven't read through this thread, but noticed it and thought you chrome folks might find it helpful? https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=137729 It's under the 2nd Gen Stock Problems forum.

I finally got up to Habberstad MINI to discuss the missing chrome trims on the front door speakers, and they readily agreed to order and install the missing items at no charge.
By the way, the 2008 MINI Motoring Accessories book, released on 03/2008, still shows chrome trim rings on the front door speakers, (page 36, illustration #74) so there's apparently a disconnect between what MINI offers in their build site and brochures, and what actually comes through from the factory. The folks at Habberstad couldn't have been nicer, although they're busy, busy, busy! I was told the wait for a factory MINI order is now 12 weeks!

Another gold star, or should we say chrome star, for Habberstad. I'm sure lurch will be very happy to read this. Good for you!

My parts manager emailed with chrome info.
She says of the three rear cup holders, only the center console is chrome. The two passenger armrest cupholders are black.

Yes I am ... and agreed with Habberstad ... they were always great, but they really seemed to have stepped it up even more in CS department.

Will call my MA about the chrome rings ... thanks for the heads-up!

Thart's correct, there is no chrome trim ring available for the rear side cupholders.

For those of us who actually prefer the chrome trim inside, I brought my Cricket in last week & requested they install the chrome on all the speakers in the door panels and the rear cup holder. They did the larger speakers on the door panels and the others are on order -- no charge. I did originally order the chrome line interior, so thanks for the info!!

Goldilocks, your dealership is far more giving than many.
I was told "No Go!" on freebie chrome for the speakers or rear cup holders.
The MiniUSA.com configurator shows Chrome Speaker Trim, but the written text didn't mention speakers. That's what the dealer based its decision on, the written word.

Good for you!

I also noticed the discrepency between the photo and the description. Just a note, the brand new official MINI accessories catalog still shows a photo with chrome trim on the speakers, and it's dated 03/2008. Finally, if you go to the build site and choose the HiFi upgrade, it shows a photo of the speaker with a chrome trim ring! Looks like MINI marketing doesn't have their act together! I'm glad my local dealer did the right thing and agreed to add the missing trim pieces.

I just logged into the Configurator on Mini's website and retrieved my Clubman. I went to the Chrome Line Interior selection, and it says that it "adds classic chrome finishes to the...front and rear cupholders". Mine doesn't have any chrome on any of the three rear cupholders.

I ordered the Piano Black Interior and have the Premium Package...my speakers aren't trimmed in chrome.

What about the written word that's in the MINI brochure? I didn't order this package, but if I did, I'd be having them reference their own literature, that's for sure. It seems pretty clear to me!

I posted this already, but in case you didn't see it, On pg 67 of the new Cooper/CooperS brochure it states:

If the optional chrome line interior is specified, the instruments, dashboard air vents, ring on the gear lever ****, door handles, speakers set in the door trims, and front & rear cup holders are all edged in chrome.

On the MINI Cooper S, and on all the models with an optional interior surface finish or upholstery in leather or cloth/leather, the chrome trim is also applied to the door handles, the speakers set in the door trims, and the front & rear cup holders.

I have ordered the Chromeline for my Clubman S but don't expect to see the chrome trim on the front speakers since I have also ordered the Piano trimline. The had an MCS on the showroom floor and it appears that the front speakers are trimmed out with the Piano finish rather than the chrome (at least when you order both packages).

Richs - apparently, that's the way all Clubmans are coming through when Chrome Line trim is ordered, regardless of any other options or trimlines. That's the issue that folks are trying to address on these forums, why we're not getting the complete trim line we ordered, even though chrome trim rings are clearly shown on the build site and in the MINI accessory brochures. Some posters also have other trim pieces missing, but no one seems to be getting the speaker trims.

All, some dealer's aren't very giving when it comes to conflicts with the MINIUSA configurator and written word. No chrome speaker rings for me because the dealer said no.
That's the way it is here.

Yeah, it seems to be a good litmus test for how customer-friendly a dealer is. I guess your dealer doesn't pass that test.

.

did you have them installed yet? since we are with the same dealer, are they doing it through Service or will the Prep Center handle this?

my MA told me to make a Service appointment, and the Service Manager told me the the prep center will handle the install so talk to the MA.

I am just going to swing by one day and have them look it over and order the parts, then have them call me once they have them ready to install.

I dealt with Ron, the assistant service manager. He needed an O.K. from the sales side, so he got that from Donna, the business manager. I did not make a service appointment, as I knew they would need to order the parts. I just went down to talk with them late morning, after all the service rush was over. Just pull your car in to the service area and ask to speak with Ron.

Ron and Donna are both great ... I guess I'll deal with them directly bypassing my MA.

Did you have yours installed yet? what pieces were missing again on yours?

Just the front speaker trims. The parts are on order, I didn't get a timeframe for when they'd be in. It's only been about a week.

Miniclubman, please let us know what it takes to rip off the old rings and put on the new. So far, dealerships north of the Mason/Dixon line are stepping up and putting in the chrome speaker rings. The dirty south sez NO!
