R55 Is Hot Choco a Fad Color
Is it July yet? UUUGH!!ClubmanS, when are ya posting pics, you tease!!
Very nice photos. I agree that MINI's Hot Chocolate is a color with a great deal of depth and richness. Beautiful!
P.S. I had a Toyota Corolla Hatchback back in the mid 80s and thought it was a metallic brown (off the lot) it couldn't hold a candle to Hot Chocolate.
Yours looks great with the body colored roof!

I have seen a couple of Hot Coco down at the Northwest Dealership, they all have had the chocolate interior, they looked great! I loved it, but my wife did not, she wanted a white car, so she won. I truly do not understand this, because it is my car. For the record, IMHO there is not many bad colors on the mini.
It was really hard to order HC clubman as the first car we drove when we got
married was a 1953 desoto. They called it root beer with a cream top 2 door coupe. It kind of reminded everyone of a large elephant turd with chrome
teeth. I guess I'm old enough to have lived it down. The hot choclate clubman
looks pretty hot now.
I'm to the point I get what melts my butter & to hell with everyone else.

If two or three other car makers add brown to their 2009 color line, then you could call it a fad - for now just it's one more thing that makes Minis unique.
I was wowed by a HC Clubman at the Philly car show, but when it came time to buy, I defered to my wife on a lighter color, SS/B, because I got to pick the color (dk blue) on her Highlander last year.

it'll probably be "turd with a silver lining"
nah ... already have a name picked out, but it won't be officially baptized until I actualy get it

Only a fool would buy a brown car.
If you're afraid of getting caught in a fad, buy a grey car like everyone else.
But, don't trust me... I own a Velvet Red Cooper and a Mellow Yellow MCS. So I obviously have no sense of taste.

I fell n love with the Clubman at a car show, and it was an HC; I was also enamoured of the idea that HC was a color option unique to Clubmans..., Clubmen?... Anyway, although it was not the only color I was considering, it was the front-runner. As I was getting ready to order, I felt the need to look at REAL Minis; not show cars, not the cool brown one in the "pinball" commercial, etc. and luckily, our Cincinnati dealer had loads of minis in every color (amazing - there were so many, and they were all spoken for!). Every color has its own charm, but it helped me make up my mind to see them all out in the sun, some with a few rain spots, a little dust, etc., and in the end I decided to order a Sparkling Silver, which I hadn't even thought about prior to seeing them all in the real world. Something that is awesome about Minis is that there is a color and combination perfect for every different person - if HC is your color, then it's YOUR color.... and it's way too sparkly to be a turd.
I wouldn't call HC a fad - I think it may be a trendsetter, though!

I have a HC/S Clubman S. Did I initially want that colpr? NO! I wanted CR/B. Now that I have it, as stated the leather and wood interior fit perfectly. If you look at it in the sunlight, you will see that it is metalic and it is very pretty. I think I will keep it!!!!!
I haven't seen Hot Chocolate in person (or even a Clubman yet, for that matter), but as far as I'm concerned, the more unique (or even strange) colours that MINI comes up with, the better.
If you look at all the colours that MINI has used over the years, the last thing we need is another shade of blue or silver, but that seems to be where the market is heading.
I love the pearlescent "Cool Blue" on my current MINI, but if it ever gets to the point where it needs a re-paint (or if I buy a new one), I'm sitting down with my House of Kolor paint catalogue and picking out something really off-the-wall.
