nearly 500 now

I've added 456 miles since I picked up Wed at noon. Total of 462 on him right now.

picked mine up on 3/22 -- at 2400 within the first week and a half. Route 66 all the way home to Los Angeles. A joy throughout.

Although the right rear reverse light is out, and there's a pesky bit of condensation within the rear brake strip above the barn doors...thought it was just temporary, but has been there since purchase. :-(

Have the dealer check that condensation. However, a little warning.... If the dealer needs to replace a part on your Clubman be prepared to wait for them a long time. Some parts on this car are on national backorder and no ETA for US delivery.

BMW has an annoying tendency to launch new cars to market with little spare parts available on hand.

Good to know. Do you know whether BMW-only dealerships have access to MINI parts? I have a friend who manages a BMW dealership here...wonder if he could just get an order in soon.

I was going to wait until I've got a couple of issues before taking it in...I'm not a huge fan of either of the LA-area MINI dealerships, which is why I bought out of state. Sigh.

I am not sure. Probably BMW dealers have access to the same parts computer database used by MINI, but it never hurts to try.

I would say that since the condensation problem is a warranty repair, bite the bullet and let your local dealer make the call. It might be something simple or it may require a new third brake light assembly. Assuming that the part is back ordered all the dealer can do is put the order in and have them notify you when it arrives.

In the mean time you can still drive the car as the condensation is not an impediment for its operation (But annoying nevertheless).

You never know. They may carry the part in stock if needed.

I remember reading the R56 boards a year ago and people's complaints about basic trim and other spare parts being back ordered for the car.

Hopefully as weeks and months go by, spare part availability for the Clubman should improve.
