I hope that I live longer than my MINI. Also to keep it clean you can wash and polish it. However Plexus is a plastic cleaner and it does a great job

Just got back from the Dragon. Put a little over 900 miles on LiL Stinker. After washing him of all the bugs and road grim, the nose looks great. I'm sold on these "Invisible Bra's.

Great to hear/read - since on my 3rd MINI, I finally got one. So - how many Clubmen were on the Dragon?

Someday I'd like to run the Dragon - I know it's beautiful countryside. Were you able to see much with all the foliage in bloom? I spent a year in West By Gawd Virginia so I'm not unfamiliar.

I have a question... so total cost of $240 does not include installation? I thought this invisishield would be installed in factory....

Paid $500 installed at MINI of Fairfield County in Connecticut in November. Well worth the $$$ sting!

Axela, you'd better find out what exactly that amount covers - can't be much.

I've just had my new Clubman done at MoFC, where Halifax did, for $515, I think it was..posted about what this covered earlier.

Howdy Halifax, oh forest keeper by day...MINI driver by night!

I've got mine on order, and was going to call tomorrow to see if I can get it added before it goes into production(hopefully next week). Our MA did mention it to us as a dealer install, but didn't give us pricing because she said we'd be able to discuss it with the financing person at a later time. So I guess my question is this: is there any advantage to ordering it now? It seems like the only thing that would need to be negotiated was the install price. $240 for the front is good, but if it doubles in $$ with labor costs I may have second thoughts.

The dealer installs are outsourced. They use sheets are are cut to fit on the car surface. Better go with someone who uses the precut kits. I had mine done and the installer had the car for a few days. He washed and checked to see if it needed any touch ups on the paint before install. He also custom fit inside the driving lower lights where there were spaces the kit didn't cover.
This stuff is really great. Hard to see it. Cleans up like the paint. I also put on the clear door edge guards that's made from the same stuff.

Get a fixed price now. Otherwise, it will almost certainly be higher later, when the car has arrived and you are all starry eyed and can't think of anything but saying yes and getting out of the dealership and hitting the blessed twisties.

We did everything through our MA ... no finance guy, no "accessories closer" guy ... we literally dealt with our MA from start to finish.

Clear film is great. Definitely worth the money. Bugs wipe off with a damp cloth ... something that you'd never use on your paint. I just brought my MINI in to get a bit of film touchup (two slightly lifted edges) under warranty.

Good luck! Your baby will be here before you know it!

Hi everyone. So my new Clubman S just arrived at the dealer this morning and I am planning to pick it up on Tuesday. I am strongly considering a clear bra product, and my dealer uses X Pel. I noticed a post from Jeff S. that he chose that product. Anyone have any experience or comments on X Pel?

Thanks!

Posted this on another thread...but do any of you know how this stuff would work on a chrome mirror cap? I just noticed that mine did not have the "shield" put on them...and I have to find out if there is a good reason why - as in it might look horrible, etc.

Thanks for any info!

Just wondering if anyone out there has had the 3M / clear coat paint protection put on the bonnet of a mini with bonnet stripes? Just wondering whether the installer went completly over the stripes? or did they not go over the stripes at all? or did they cut the 3M clear coat and do it in separate strips?

Just wondering because if I get the clear coat replaced say in 5 years and you pull it off - worried it might strip back/off the white stripes I have

Would love to hear from anyone - as I'm hoping to get this done soon

My dealer-installed clear film was applied over the bonnet stripes, and I just scheduled a date with my local sign shop to have the stripes extended front and back - the additions will go over the clear film.

On delivery, check the clear film VERY closely. My MINI has had two warranty touchups to the film and they keep screwing it up on the rear spoiler ... by not getting the film to precisely contact every surface, pockets are created and they collect road dust.

Needless to say, next time she's in for service, they'll be fixing it again. The product itself is outstanding tho!

My invisishields will be installed at a later time due to misorder. I wont be able to drive it on the highways yet since I'm waiting for this order to come in. Just a precaution.
Has anyone not put the invisishield on and wound up having to fix a scratched up and dented front? Does the repair cost equal the cost of the invisishield?
