My MINIs have all been CVT MINIs - not the S and I have only driven the Cooper Clubman Auto but I loved it and found it much, much smoother both in the sense of its automatic (non CVT) and the actual ride of the car. Because of its extended wheelbase, the Clubman has a smoother ride.

Had been concerned about the barn doors limiting my rear view but after about 3 minutes, I'd forgotten about it.

Loved the car so much that I am about to trade in my MC CVT '06 - plus, we need that "just enough" more bit of space. Go test drive one and you'll know right away if it's for you.

My 2 cents....we LOVE the Clubman!! We sold our 05' MCS and in general, MINI has made some great changes since then.

The Clubman ride is very smooth, quiet (sort of miss that Supercharger whine). For us, we really can't tell any difference in the length when driving it. It handles great - in fact my hubby says he thinks it handles better than his MCS did. The rear pillar where the doors shut, is quickly forgotten about. I don't quite understand all the hoopla about it anyway...you can see out just fine.

Go test drive one -

Donna

I came from a Lexus SUV to my Clubman and havn't missed it for a second! The Barn doors is a non issue! You'll forget about it within minutes! I love the ride!

I'm happy as can be with my Clubbie. It is a night and day difference from my '05 MC though. Just a little over 700 miles now and I can't wait to take a road trip with it. Oh, just farting around town and short little highway jaunts, I'm averaging over 40 mpg.
