I'm here...

Porco Rosso 02-22-2006 09:01 AM

What surprises me is that despite living in Austin, home of the national champion Texas Longhorns, I have yet to see a single Hot Orange Cabrio around town. This town probably has more orange cars per capita than just about anywhere, but no HO Cabrios.

scatpack 02-22-2006 09:18 AM

Too hot

alpinamike 02-22-2006 10:00 AM

I know they are lowest in production.

Including ones with the blue top(mine) and ones with the green top(even more rare).
Painesville MINI, I remeber when you put your order in , i was on MINI2.com.
You said that someone already had your, plus I think my brother saw your car in Cleveland!

Their are very few of us, the cool blue people have a crowd.
We need a voice of our own just on MINI talk.
Plus we did buy their flagship car!
I would like to know how many got the two tone ornage blue interior and who got blue , green, and black tops?

Anyone want to post some pics?

Scatpack Nice pic!

Great combination, love those seat, I wish they were all leather, BLUE and orange.

I wonder if anyone has the english leather interior, but it only comes in grey and with light grey piping?

Icarus reporting for HO duty, sir! Wait. That doesn't sound right. Um, present and accounted for? Yeah, that sounds better.

Blue leather interior with body color dash, interior & exterior chrome packs, NO STRIPES! plus extra chrome thrown on the interior (vent knobs, defrost rings, door lock rings and switch panel cover rings), blue top (that's not working right now  gotta take it in) and one awesome body kit planned within the next 1.5 years. It's very expensive but the highest quality and design there is. Until then I save up $ and dream.

K&N CAI, 17% pulley and cold plugs being added this weekend. I already have the MTH Tuner File for the MCSC 06 manual (excellent buttdyno measurement but getting real dynoed this Thur for the delta) and I am awaiting the updated one that adjusts for the added mods.

New tires & wheels coming in a few months. Other mods that are planned for this year are: Koni FSD's, rear sway bar, M7's USS, Miltek exhaust & Green Stuff brake pads with steel braided brake lines. Let's just say this road ain't for everyone as it's very expensive and a lot of work.

Was in winning pic with two others for January's Off the Beaten path photo contest. Also in deck of cards that is offered here somewhere. I don't remember which card Icarus is.

Oh yeah and one 10cm x 5mm scratch on interior passenger door panel. Someone got lazy getting in the car and used the door to help get their foot in. Their boot had strap up hooks. Grrr. Will be repaired when body kit gets added.

My dealer has sold ONE total orange/green top cars! ONE...ever. And they required a LARGE deposit on it because they didnt want to be stuck with it.

The new owner loved his 'little pumpkin"

thefuturequeenofnebraska 02-22-2006 02:31 PM

spotted a HO/B (with black bonnet stripes) today! :)

(14 Mile and Kelly in Michigan!)

somehow I was thinking along the same lines lol..

I think HO is a great color, I don't understand why it's shunned so  my dealer has made a similar comment in that they cringe whenever they get an orange one on the lot... but I think they look great.

I have been searching the galleries for a PW conv S, but they seem to be few and far between as well...

Dr Obnxs 02-22-2006 03:44 PM

I thought hot orange people

were the ones that used the fake tan stuff!

There's a HO/Blue top cabrio owned by a worker at Ridge. (Great reds!). I see her car every time I go tasting at the Monte Bello winery....

a picture of the CN tower in Toronto?

Sorry couldn't resist. I was in my photo gallery and forgot that was there. Had to share it.

alpinamike 02-22-2006 04:47 PM

Great Umpa Lumpa

They are orange with green tops(hair) and white stripes(eye brow)..

Sweet pics, great interior, NEMO!!

I don't know why they are low in numbers, keeps mine HIGH in value!!

Blue top, Black top, love them all.
We have to form our own group on Cabrio Talk, its almost time for top down fun... and for SoCAL people they already do this... they are the lucky ones:thumbsup:

I wonder how many have white rims?
Even a lesser amount?

I think I was 1 of 3 at the Classic MINI gathering this last summer. I was the only non-S HO there.

Is your brother in Cleveland? Where was he when he saw the what looked like my car?

alpinamike 02-22-2006 04:50 PM

No, but I should have. My wife is basically blind at night. Her next car will have some upgraded lights. It's one of those things where hindsight before buying would have been good.

alpinamike 02-22-2006 04:54 PM

He was on 271 to 480 inbound.

I know it was you , same rims, same stripe, he got it with a camera phone while driving( he was not at the wheel)
My other brother lives in Parma Heights, who they visit.
I met a Hyper blue in the parking deck at the cleveland clinic!

Small World:thumbsup:

Nope

I looked at the pic again, Blue top....
Yours is black.

But it was the same car down to the interior.
You have a blue top clone in cleveland!!!!

I think a guy was driving.
See we have camera phones which we take Pics of MINIs on then send them to each other.

The best thing for MINI sighting!

Now you have to tell me when. I've got winter tires/ rims on it. I do work right over by I-480 which on the way from P-burgh is your route.

There are plenty of MINI's by me as Classic is about 8 miles from my house.

alpinamike 02-22-2006 05:03 PM

I think it was someone else, they had a blue top,
look at post before yours!!

alpinamike 02-22-2006 05:13 PM

I am trying to send a pic..

But its need downsized from 2000x 1000 to 800x 800?

Open it in pbrush (crappy graphics program that comes with Windows).

Then go to the edit menu, and the scale and shear, scale to 40% in each dimension, will make it 800 x 400 (and perserve aspect ratio).
Resave.
Upload etc...

The HO/Blue MINI your reffering to is the only HO/Blue Classic has sold, and it was one of last years loaners. I test drove that car!

I test drove it too. Almost drove it home that day, but $500.00 off for a car that ALMOST had what I wanted and was driven pretty hard for the 4000 miles it had on it just didn't seem worth it.

I don't think it had heated seats and had the FUGLY chrono pack:sad::sad::sad:

MadisonMini 02-23-2006 07:56 AM

My car

Hey all,

I'll post pics soon. I've had my HO MCSC since 9/04, the first month of delivery. About 19000 miles now.

Anyway, I never saw another HO in town (Madison,WI) but another doctor at my hospital bought one!! So now there are 2 HO MCSC in my parking lot. Kind of a bummer.

Anyway, pics will be coming of my JCW MCSC with 18" wheels soon (not at my home computer right now).

Boy you don't drive much... I've had my car since May 05 and have over 22,000 miles. (70 miles round trip to work) There is discussion that they might close our office and have us all work virtual then the trip will be 20 steps.

kenatminimania 02-23-2006 10:51 AM

Count us in - my wife has a Orange / Blue MCc.

There is also another Orange / Black MCSc here in Grass Valley.

Well, I should have said that I don't drive the car in the winter, so those are April to October miles.:)

Much better. I don't have a winter beater. I will park the car (or rather my wife will park her car) during the summer so I can ride my BMW. I'm sure she'll drop the top all summer long (she's a teacher) while I put all my gear on to ride???

alpinamike 02-23-2006 01:39 PM

MINI of Pittsburgh sold a couple...

I think my was one of the first Blue top sold, i will have to check on that,
they also had one as someone put it together then bought something else, they still have it.

It had the chrono pac, that was the loaner they sold at Classic MINI in cleveland..

Does not supprise me no three month+ wait... but it had people in it before, i wanted mine brand new!!!

I will try to get my pics up here,
go ahead and post your BEST:thumbsup:

Pretty hard is an understatement. I smoked the tires across 615 on my way towards hopikins for the Classic test drive loop!

No heated seats,m but it did have the orange blue seats and it had the orange dash.

yes, it did have the fugly chrono pak too, thats what made me decide against it!
