R52 New Convertible Top...
New Convertible Top...
Just out of curiosity - how many other convertible owners have had their tops replaced?
Mine just succombed to the dreaded "MINI White Wear Pattern Syndrome", along with the infamous "crescent shaped" side window scratches. My first question - has the mechanic ever replaced the convertible top and side windows before? (I didn't want to be "number one" - let them practice on someone else's first.) Poor "Sam" - and she only has ~26K on her...
Let's see a show of hands - how many others out there?
edit: Domonick - you da man!

Mine went in today...it'll be back in the moning. I don't knwo if anyone else in HI has had theirs replaced, but not to my knowledge. I don't have the crescent scratches, though I only have one window (the other one will be replaced next week...it was busted out...)
Just had mine replaced (and they even retinted my back window). But now it doesn't close right. The top closes and then the sunroof part won't. Last night I had to revert to banging it with my fist to get it to close. Needless to say I will be making another trip to the dealer. I had pointed out the cresent scratches on my side windows as well and they claimed it was "dirt", might bring it up again.
