I ve been looking at a few Minis and want to get some others thoughts on two that I like. First one is a 05 Cabrio with the JCW package, navigation, heated seats, 6 speed electric blue 44K miles. This one is in great shape.
Man, this thing is FAST. Does not appear to have any outstanding issues.
Asking 10K. Nice black JCW wheels
Second is a 07 Cooper S auto with 76K, sunroof, door dings on one side.
All recalls done and walnut blasted recently. I am a bit concerned that the
07, being the first year of that series, may have recurrent problems with
turbo lines HPFP, etc. and I will have many hrs and $ in future issues to resolve these issues. Asking 8300. Has nice BMW wheels (black) and
newer run flat tires.
Neither one will be driven in our midwest winters. Nor have they.Is the supercharged JCW in this gen any more problematic than the 07-09 turbos?

The gen1 SC motors are pretty solid...price might be high...but anything is worth what somebody is willing to pay...
The n14 turbo... Not so much. ..also add timing chain issues, and general failures if it was obd2 tuned with a handheld tuner...
IMO the cabrio is great, but if I were to buy a gen2, it would be the n18 version..a much better MOTOR imo....think (not 100% sure)that was 2011+ in the S, a year later in the JCW...
