Hooked jumper cables wrong....2005 mini cooper - convertible

I hooked up the jumper cables wrong to a mini cooper 2005 and It sparked on the battery. I was able to notice it right away so i changed them quickly. I was able to turn on my car and everything looked fine. I drove my car for 2-3 weeks without any problems. After that, my battery started dying like once a week. I called AAA and they checked the battery and told me to replace it because it was going to continue dying.

I could not afford a brand new battery so I went to an automobile junk yard and bought a compatible battery for the mini cooper. I drove the car for 1-2 days, but again it keeps dying on me.

I took my car to auto zone and they told me the alternator and battery are in good condition. fully charged.

I am confused, I don't know if I should just buy a brand new battery? Maybe the one that I bought does not have enough power or something like that? or if something really bad happened to the car system for hooking the jumper cables wrong.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

When you original hooked up the jumper cables, were you jumping your car or someone else's?

I don't think that you hurt anything, I think there was something wrong before you hooked up the cables, otherwise you probably would not have had to hook up the cables to begin with.

Something could be causing a drain.

How old was the battery that you replaced?

How old is the used battery that you bought? They have dates stamped on them.
