R52 This Cabrio thing is driving me NUTS.
Hey MINI-Madman... your tag says you use 94 octane. My understanding is that anything over 91 is wasted because the ECU adjusts to maintain the same torque regardless of octane. Have you noticed a huge difference with 94 (could it be a placebo effect)?
Actually it's been awhile since I put 94 octane in. It's bad enough having 91 octane at $1.10/liter.
Can't really say for sure that using 94 really increased my power band. And if it does, it's very minimal. I would usually use it for racing. Would fill 'er up a couple times prior to race time to get her used to it. Thought using a higher octane for higher revving situations ( racing ) would help things. So that's what I would do. I'll have to check into whether or not it actually does improve anything. Could anyone elaborate on this?
