R52 MSD Coil Failure 04 R52 P0303 Code
MSD Coil Failure 04 R52 P0303 Code
Hi Guys,
158K miles on her now, I had swapped out the OEM coil for a MSD coil at 100k miles when I did the plugs and wires too (OEM coil was working fine, some rust on the #3 coil lead). Well, 58K miles later......I lost all power above 1/2 throttle (sputter with zero acceleration) and got a P0303 code (mis-fire #3). I swapped plugs around and still got the P0303 code. I put in old OEM coil, took her for a run, and everything seems good now.
Has anybody had the MSD coil fail on them?????.......Is there a better coil than the MSD or OEM coil?. I like the brass leads on the MSD but don't want to put a new one in every 58K miles.
Thanks.......

Hahahaha well, hopefully you get more outta it then i did. I am running the Iridium IX plugs too. I had to drill out the mounting holes o the MSD to get the OEM bolt to fit. Did you have the same problem?
Harware stores around here well stocked with ss bolts, washers and even new rubber o rings....
I have heard where some use a dremmel tool to remove the OEM bolts outer sleeves.
