So annoyed...hit and run

Left school last night and when I got home I noticed that someone hit my drivers side quarter panel and my bumper :( Paint gone all the way down to the metal...I'm so bummed. I wanna do something quick to make sure I don't get rust. What do I do about that? I'm not sure if the damage is significant enough to warrant an insurance claim....I'm gonna go to the body shop friday and see what they say. I'm just concerned about rust. Boo on that jerk!

That's brutal... wtf is wrong with people? I guess it depends on your deductible etc but my guess is it's probably worth an insurance claim. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will step in with better advice.

Your post reminded me of this classic:

I'm definitely gonna take it to the shop and see what they say if it's over my deductible ($500) I'm okish with filing a claim my bummer has tons of rock chips and if that would take care of them too then I'm ok with it. My mom says I'm overreacting but just the other day I saw someone driving and there car was so rusty and I thought how do you let that happen to your car (it wasn't a very old car just didn't look well cared for)...that's not cool or attractive. I guess I'm being kinda vain...

Some people just see their cars as transportation and don't care how they look.

Some people like to keep the things they worked hard for looking good, and have a sense of pride about their cars. There's nothing wrong with that if you ask me. It shows character. I take care of my car, just like I take care of my body and my home and my job and everything else important in my life.

I have many friends who will never understand this, I actually felt pain when my girlfriend first told me she didn't change her Corolla's oil until the Check Engine Light came on.

OP, sucks about your car, hard to say what would work (and look better) without know the size/depth of the scratch.
