I got it! Proud new owner of Dr. Evil!

Good morning all!

Last night I drove up to MD to meet with CR&PW&JB (Chris) and purchase his JB cabrio, which you all may know better as "Dr. Evil"! I don't have any photos of my own yet, but I'm sure you've all seen the threads where Chris detailed out this immaculate car and the various things he's done to it over the years. This car is in superb shape for being nearly 5 years old, and only has 43k on the clock.

It's my first softtop, but *not* my first convertible, oddly enough - I have had a Chevrolet SSR (folding hardtop) and also a couple Corvettes with targa tops (not technically convertibles, though). I wish today's weather was going to be like yesterday's so I could drop the top after work, but looks like I may have to wait a couple days for that!

I am debating keeping the name Dr. Evil, but have other options in mind as well... While I love the car as Chris modded it, it might be due for some me-ification, as these things tend to be.

I've got a shopping list that's getting longer by the day (ipod adapter or new head unit, storage armrest, etc), but this car even came with a few extras I didn't know about at first! (Euro parcel shelf, between-seats windblocker, already programmed for convenience opening...)

All I know right now is my GF is jealous (partially because her baby - her Audi TT - is in the shop right now) and my commute in this morning was pretty much all smiles. I've given the old Corvette-guy two-finger wave to a couple Minis already this morning on the road, but I don't think they reciprocated; maybe "the wave" isn't terribly common in Minis like it is in Vettes and Jeeps?

At any rate - you'll definitely see me around asking dumb questions like I have been for a couple weeks now.

Let's Motor!
Dave

Congrats Dave, If I remember right I actually did some of the mods to Dr Evil a while back. It was a pretty nice car. If you have any questions about it let me know.

WAY
