I'm selling my old 2005 MC Convertible and thinking of buying a lightly used 2007-2008 Automatic (CVT) Convertible (Non-S)

i) What things/faults should I look for on the 07/08? If I take it to a non mini-mechanic, what should I reccomend they look for?

ii) My 05 Mini had a 4 year, 50k mile bumper-to-bumper factory warranty, AND a 4 yr, 50k factory maintenance plan. The original owner bought these and I bought them off her with the car.

The seller of the 07/08 says she has a 36k, 3 year warranty.

Is her description accurate, or is she referring to the maintenance plan?

What is the standard factory warranty on the 07/08 mini cooper?

I'm not interested in extending the maintenance plan, but I am interested in having a 4yr, 50k FACTORY (not 3rd party) warranty like i had on the 05 (i.e. dealer fixes anything if it breaks down).

Is there any way to extend the factory warranty on an 07/08 if it only comes with 3/36?

I just recently bought an 08 MCS convertible via private sale. The owner had the sticker and the standard warranty was 4year 50K miles. He also had a 6 yr 100K maintenance plan which I was told transferred to me with no transfer charge.
