'05 S Cabrio - Need Key FOB
Greetings - I just purchased an '05 S Convert and it only had one key, with keyless entry FOB. I contacted Calabasas BMW and they want $237 for a new key with FOB. Calabasas is the closest MINI dealer to me (160 mi). I saw some on ebay for <$50, but the key shaft would need to be replaced and re-keyed, plus the FOB would need to be reprogrammed. Does anyone have any experience with getting a spare? Should I research the ebay/locksmith route, or should I pay the $237 and avoid a massive headache…or coronary?
