Bluetooth with or without GPS

I just bought my Sidewalk Cabrio, and I love it! But, now I have to decide about bluetooth. I live in California, and beginning July 1, we have to be hands-free in the car.

I can't decide if the bluetooth is worth it at all. If I've got the top down, can anybody hear me? And then, do I really want other people hearing my conversations?

I'm considering the Parrot EVO because it's inexpensive and my husband can easily install it for me. But, if the microphone is going to pick up tons of wind noise, is it really worth it?

And, if I'm going to do anything, should I do a Garmin or Tom Tom and add the GPS?

Thoughts?

I find it useless in my Cabrio. The only thing that even remotely works is a bluetooth headset. I just got the new Jawbone 2 that supposedly has better noise reduction than anything else on the market, so we'll see when it arrives in a couple of days. Hopefully that's the ticket. But in a cab, in-car bluetooth on wide CA freeways is useless IMHO.

Really, the only thing that works in a cab is cell-phone abstinence.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll wait to hear how you like the Jawbone 2. The reviews looks pretty good.

I have a cheapo motorola earpiece that works fairly well with top down, assuming I'm not passing a semi or harley while talking on the phone. It's not a great solution, but it seems better than most alternatives. It helps a lot to keep the windows up and the rear windscreen in place, of course. I've heard both good and horrible things about the jawbone devices. Hope to hear more reviews soon.

The original Jawbone works well for me... minus the Semi/Harley accompaniment.
