Big clonking sound after resting for 2 days or more
Hello All!
I have a new MCC non-s. And I drive it everyday for 50 miles daily and it is now ran about 2000 miles.
It happened two times that whenever i didnt drive the car for 2 days or more, the car was reluctant to move! the handbrake was released, 1st gear shift right, just when i released the clutch, the car seemed to be locked up or "hold" by some invisible force. I had to press hard on gas and there was a big clonking noise from behind and than the car run smoothly afterwards..
There were nothing around the car and the wheels and I was not driving over anything at all i swear..
What do you think?

I'm guessing that the pads aren't releasing when the emergency brake is released. Perhaps some rust on the rotors is causing the pads to bind? When you apply enough torque, you break through the rust...
It's just a guess.

Mine will do the same thing, especially if you drive it in the rain or wash it right before you park it for a couple days. Rotors get rusty and the handbrake doesn't fully release until you start moving. I agree with the above poster. Nothing to worry about.
This sounds a bit extreme to be normal. You might encounter a little resistance from a stuck emergency/parking brake, but it should pretty quickly break loose - it sounds like the force you need to get it going (And the sound) are excessive. I'd ask the dealer to check it out. I'm not saying that there is something terribly wrong, but it shouldn't do this and can probably be remedied quickly by the dealer.
In fact, you and a helper should be able to check this out. Park it for a few days, and the while you're watching the rear calipers, have your helper disengage the parking brake. If you don't see the calipers move...
